We should be growing 85% of our food locally. I know, this has been an issue that many before have raised, but the survival of our people depends on us doing the work now to allow Hawaii to have food security.

​I will work with other council members and the mayor's office to pressure the State to release land more readily to farmers who will cultivate needed staples.

I will also coordinate with big land owners and local farmers who have excess land in the hopes of incentivizing them to give low cost leases to farmers willing to cultivate locally consumed staples.
